WP 7 - Hepatotoxicity

The work package 7 (WP 7) is part of ONTOX project dedicated to establish in vitro test batteries and to support AI in assessing the colestatic and steatotic potential of chemical compounds in the liver.

WP 7 is dedicated to establishing mechanistically based in vitro test batteries to address data gaps and support the artificial intelligence system in assessing the cholestatic and steatotic potential of chemical compounds in the liver. This involves setting up in vitro assays to detect molecular initiating events and key events identified in updated adverse outcome pathway networks for liver steatosis and cholestasis.

Additionally, WP 7 focuses on developing new in vitro assays to capture recently identified molecular initiating and key events linked to liver toxicity. Targeted testing of chemicals, identified through the AI system, will be performed using these in vitro test batteries, further enhancing the assessment of liver toxicity risks.
