ONTOX-VHP4Safety

The ONTOX-VPH4Safety webinar series for Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs) is organised in collaboration with the ASPIS Academy, a network of ESRs. The series aims to showcase the contributions of ESRs from ONTOX and VHP4Safety in animal-free risk assessment and reinforce the collaboration between the two projects.

The first webinar: Stakeholder Involvement in Animal-Free Risk Assessment
The second webinar: Research Output Management Strategies for Animal-Free Risk Assessment

INNOVATION

CellDesigner - Luiz Ladeira

Playlist

1 Videos

Luiz Ladeira from the Biomechanics Research Unit of the University of Liège, introduces the CellDesigner software to curate and construct molecular interaction models to build physiological maps as part of the European project ONTOX. CellDesigner is a practical tool that aids scientists in constructing detailed maps of molecular interactions within our bodies. This introductory tutorial is your gateway to understanding pathway representation and modeling. In the ONTOX project, CellDesigner is crucial in designing Physiological Maps to understand the biological mechanisms that chemicals can perturb. Interested to learn more? Find all the details here.

Physiological maps - Bernard Staumont

Bernard Staumont, from the Biomechanics Research Unit of the University of Liège, introduces the concept of Physiological Maps, revealing their significance for scientific research and their vital role within the ONTOX project. Physiological maps can be seen as cartographies that describe in detail biological processes and functions, forming a cornerstone of ONTOX: the biological framework. They are complementary to Adverse Outcome Pathways and represent the first layer of ONTOX ontology maps which aim to integrate biological, chemical and kinetic data, among others. MINERVA Platform - Alessio Gamba

Introduction

1 Videos

Dr. Alessio Gamba, postdoctoral researcher at the University of Liège, introduces MINERVA, a web-based platform designed to visualize and analyze complex biological networks. As part of the ONTOX project, MINERVA plays a crucial role in integrating and interpreting large-scale biological data, supporting the development of animal-free toxicity assessment methods. Watch the video to learn more about MINERVA, its help to visualization and analyzing processes of complex biological pathways, and its use in the future of toxicological research.
