ASPIS Academy Interviews

The ASPIS Academy launched a new series of career development interviews featuring experts in toxicology and risk assessment. Early-career scientists from the ASPIS cluster engaged with seasoned professionals to explore their motivations and gather advice for aspiring researchers.

In the inaugural interview, Julen Sanz-Serrano (ONTOX) spoke with Mathieu Vinken, ONTOX coordinator and professor at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, about his passion for science and insights to help guide future research journeys.

The second interview in the ASPIS Academy career development series featured Patience Browne, a principal administrator at the OECD. Marie Corradi (ONTOX) discussed the challenges Patience encounters in her role and the passion that drives her work in chemical regulation.

Third interview was with Dylan Underhill, the Head of Public Affairs (UK & EU) at Cruelty Free International, who has dedicated his career to advancing animal protection policies through his work with various NGOs. Eliska Kuchovska (ONTOX) talks with Dylan about his dedication to ending animal testing, the campaigns he’s currently leading, and the crucial role young scientists play in advancing the adoption of NAMs.

Final interview was with Gladys Ouedraogo, an expert from L’Oréal, who shared her experiences in the dynamic cosmetics industry. In a conversation led by Anna Melina Steinbach, an early-career scientist from RISK-HUNT3R, she provided valuable insights and guidance for young researchers considering careers in the field.
