NAMs solutions for EPAA
Explore NAMs-based solutions created by ONTOX for the EPAA designathon for human systemic toxicity
About The designathon
Towards an animal free regulatory system for industrial chemicals
On 31 May, the ‘New approach methodologies (NAMS) workshop: Towards an animal free regulatory system for industrial chemicals’ took place at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in Helsinki.
During this workshop, the European Partnership for Alternative Approaches to Animal Testing (EPAA) launched its designathon for human systemic toxicity.
The designathon challenge was to propose prototype NAM-based solutions for discussion at a workshop. These solutions should have been dedicated to informing the development of a potential future classification system for human systemic toxicity.
ONTOx CONTRIBUTIONS
ONTOX researchers produced 6 solutions for the designathon, aiming to move towards an animal-free regulatory system. ONTOX solutions are presented in the posters below.
