CAAT, partner in the ONTOX project, shortlisted for the Lush Prize 2026

Johns Hopkins Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing (CAAT), a partner in the Horizon 2020 ONTOX project, has been shortlisted for the Lush Prize 2026 (Training Prize) for recognizing outstanding educational initiatives.

The Lush Prize recognizes efforts to end or replace animal testing, especially in toxicology research. The Training Prize rewards individuals or organisations involved in providing training to others in non-animal research methods.

About CAAT

CAAT focuses on developing cutting-edge biotechnologies, educational initiatives, and multi-stakeholder events that drive the shift away from animal models in toxicology. It promotes and advances scientific practice and tools that increase specificity, human relevance, and the humane treatment of animals in clinical and research settings.

In 2026, only 9 institutions and teams from 7 countries worldwide have been shortlisted in this category. The winners will be announced at the Lush Prize Awards Ceremony in May 2026.
